Despite all biasness in reporting Bihar, One can’t ignore
this positive news
It was first phase of Bihar assembly election and election
saw a voter turnout better compare to last elections. But what has been more positive
is women turned out in large numbers to vote than men.
It was not few precision point but about 5
percent more!
Biased news traders in India never leave any opportunity to
tarnish image of state and its people But when comes to anything positive, they
have no time or space for it.
In last few years there has been transformation in level of
awareness among women in rural area. Largely not educated but there is a positive
evolution in their understanding of governance at bottom level. Thanks to
generous allocation by respective central and state government, it’s visible to
them that they have a right and they deserve their share of allocation.
Though I must say that we have long way ahead but it’s very positive
if you compare it with other states at the same level.
Adult education was an ambitious plan in Bihar but as always
Government agencies does not execute it well. Despite their limited education,
women are willing to learn and improve their participation. Important to
mention here Bihar has 50% women in local bodies. What is still needed is more training at local
body level to improve awareness.
